Ben Rosario - Co-Founder, CEO
Ben has been just about everything there is to be in the running industry: professional runner, run specialty store owner, race director, marketing director, non-profit executive director and Olympic level coach.
During his eight-plus years as the Northern Arizona Elite head coach and executive director, NAZ athletes produced 87 wins, 13 national titles, ten World Marathon Major Top-10s, eight World Championship appearances, and one Olympic Trials Marathon victory.
Part of the The Marathon Project ownership group, Ben serves as TMP CEO and works on everything from branding, content and social media, to athlete recruitment, sponsorships, race day execution and more. He also serves as the TMP Experience Head Coach and has personally written all of The Marathon Project Training Plans. -
Josh Cox - Co-Founder, Vice President of Corporate Sales
Josh has been a prominent figure in the professional running world for nearly 30 years. As a pro athlete, he negotiated his own contracts with companies like Fila, K-Swiss and Power Bar during a lucrative and successful career that included setting the American Record at 50k and competing in four Olympic Trials Marathons.After retiring from pro running, he quickly became one of the industry’s leading athlete representatives. His list of current and former clients includes names like Stephanie Bruce, Scott Fauble, Des Linden, Kellyn Taylor and Ryan and Sara Hall.
A member of the original TMP team in 2020, Josh is now part of the The Marathon Project ownership group and serves as the event’s V.P. of Corporate Sales. -
Katie Sutton - Vice President of Athlete Experience
A lifelong runner, Katie was an all-state performer at Rolla High School (MO) before running collegiately at Texas Christian University. After graduating from TCU she went on to finish top 10 at several marathons including Marine Corps, Memphis (St. Jude) and Napa Valley. For the last several years she has served as the President of the HOKA Festival of Miles track meet in Saint Louis.Katie has over 20 years of experience as a security analyst and small business owner. She is a breast cancer survivor and advocate for cancer awareness. She loves to-do lists and the behind-the-scenes work that creates environments for athletes to excel.
Katie volunteered at TMP 2020 as the nutrition station coordinator and is now a part of the ownership group, managing the athlete experience for all TMP participants.

Matt Helbig - Co-Founder, Vice President of Race Operations
Matt is a leading running industry entrepreneur, having co-founded retail running store Big River Running Company in 2006 and Big River Race Management in 2007. Now focused completely on the management business, Matt and his team at BRRM work with endurance events all over the country including the BIX 7, the Crim 10 Mile, and the New York City Marathon.
As a runner Matt was a Division II All American at Truman State University in the 1500 meters and cross country. More recently, he was the Masters 800 meter champion at the 2024 Drake Relays.
Matt and his team were a major reason for the success of The Marathon Project in 2020 and they are collectively part of the TMP ownership group. -
Nick Walton - Senior Director of Timing Operations
Nick began his timing career in 2013 when he joined a family friend's timing company and quickly became an expert. After a few years of timing local races, Nick joined Big River Race Management in 2017 and quickly became one of their lead timers, eventually handling some of their largest clients. Nick has earned the reputation as one of the top timers in the industry and in 2025 will be the lead timer for many of the Top 100 largest road races in America including: The Bix 7, St. Luke's FitOne Half Marathon, The Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, and Twin Cities Marathon.Nick's strengths include his attention to detail, operational planning, and ensuring the race-day plan is executed to perfection.

Adam Swansen - Director of Timing and Scoring
Adam joined the Big River team after spending time as the former director of timing operations for EnMotive and J&A Racing and has timed more than 1,500 races and 1.2 million participants over the course of his career. He specializes in timing and working with large, complex events with up to 30,000 participants. Adam received the 2018 ChronoTrack Pioneer award, which is presented to an individual, or company, that pushes industry boundaries and sets new standards for peers. Big River Race Management won the same award in 2012.
Adam lives for race mornings as long as he has his coffee and when not at races can be found traveling with Courtney and their Labrador Jack.
