Personal Bottles Program
The first ever personal bottles program for amateurs and the largest personal bottles program in marathon history.
Personal Bottles Program Details:
ALL GOLD WAVE AND PROFESSIONAL RACE ATHLETES WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR PERSONAL BOTTLES PROGRAM
Step-by-Step:
1) All participants will receive an email asking if they wish to participate in the personal bottles program (PBP). We will have water and sports drinks on the course so those that choose not to participate will have plenty of hydration options.
2) Those who opt into the PBP will be notified via email within one week of the race as to where their bottle will be located on the course (ex: Station 1A, Table 24, #3). See the fluid station map below.
3) All Gold Wave participants will be required to bring their own bottles and drop them off at packet pick-up on Friday, December 19th. You will label your bottles at that time and put them into a box specific to your table. Professional Race participants will have a separate bottle drop-off at the Sheraton Grand Hotel (time TBD).
4) All bottles will be monitored and kept in a safe environment overnight.
5) TMP key volunteers will drop off all bottles on race morning at their respective tables.
6) TMP fluid station volunteers will place your bottle on its table, in its predetermined spot, before the race begins. Each time you pass the table and grab your bottle, a volunteer will replace it with your next bottle.
7) There will be plenty of signage on the course alerting you that a fluid station is approaching and each table will be clearly marked so that you can identify your table.
8) If you miss your bottle, remember that there will be water and sports drink available to all participants on the course.
9) All participants are allowed to run with their bottle as long as they would like but we will remind you to kindly toss your bottle off the course when you are finished. Volunteers will retrieve it.
10) RUN AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!
